Beyond Year 2000 Compliance: Year 10,000 Compliance

With all the hype over possible Year 2000 compliance problems in your software, we at RECAP are concerned that a larger and potentially more serious issue is being overlooked.

In just a little over eight thousand and two years the year 10,000 will be right on top of us. We were shocked to discover that most computer systems are completely unprepared to handle a five digit year. Short-sighted managers and IT professionals may be assuming that they will be collecting their pensions before this bug becomes an issue at their companies. But with the potential bankruptcy of the Social Security system and with children living at home longer and longer, it is very possible that you will still be working on December 31, 9999, still paying off your child's college tuition.

Don't wait until the last minute! Allocate 80% of your IT staff's time toward addressing this issue immediately and there will be no need for you to worry about working for a company with a Year 10,000 problem. Remember: there are just under three million days until the Year 10,000. Act now!
